Malaysian Journalist Launches Book With Sylvester Stallone’s Mom
Jan 22, 2007, Kuala Lumpur. Jacqueline Stallone, (Celebrity Astrologer and Sylvester Stallone’s mother) launched a book entitled In The Eye of the Tiger: Survival Principles from Sylvester Stallone’s Life & Films, written by local journalist Gerald Chuah at Borders Times Square. The launch took place after a special screening of Rocky 6 which is due for release in local cinemas on February 22.
Jacqueline who is currently on a Far East tour with her husband Dr. Stephen M. Levine made a special trip to KL to meet Chuah for the event. Jacqueline who first saw a copy of the book two years ago was impressed by the accuracy of the facts, and said these are the rules the family live by.
In her quote she said: ”I am very proud of your book. I read the book and every word is true. The whole family live by these rules and these are quotes that Sylvester was raised on.”
For Chuah who began the journey of writing this book many years ago, said this is a case of fantasy meet reality. “Never in my wildest dream did I imagine my book will one day be endorsed and launched by Jackie to coincide with the last episode of the Rocky series.
“This is indeed a great honor, and a high point in my life,” said Chuah.
A Stallone fan since young Chuah found there are more to Stallone’s film than the action scenes, and there are many inspirational ideas and life lessons which inspire audiences to reach the pinnacle of their dreams.
One of Sylvester Stallone’s quotes in the back cover of this book says, “I want to give the audience positive symbols, heroines and heroes who pull themselves up from the depths of despair. As they struggle and claw and finally attain their goals, viewers can realize `My God, I can do that,’ or `That’s the kind of person I want to be.”
Chuah said it is a labor of love researching this subject, taking quotes from various sources including newspaper archives, books, and documentaries. The book’s topics are comprehensive, covering all aspect of life, with powerful ideas for living never published before. It also has 36 hand drawn illustrations featuring Stallone action poses from his blockbuster films of the 80s.
The book will be initially available in all Borders book stores in February, which is a few weeks ahead of the release of Rocky Balboa – Rocky 6 movie at cinemas nationwide.
